Conventional Septic Systems

A conventional system is simple only when every elevation and connection is right. Relentless installs and repairs gravity systems with careful attention to tank placement, inlet and outlet piping, distribution, drainfield protection, and future access.

What’s included

A complete service. Not a surface-level fix.

01

Conventional installations

Complete installation of permitted gravity systems for new construction and approved replacement projects.

02

Tanks and piping

Tank placement, building-sewer connection, inlet and outlet piping, baffles, filters when specified, risers, and lids.

03

Distribution

Distribution boxes, gravity conveyance piping, and approved dispersal components installed to the elevations in the design.

04

Repairs and access

Correction of damaged piping, boxes, lids, risers, and other serviceable components when the drainfield remains viable.

Start with what you’re noticing.

You do not need to diagnose the system before scheduling. Tell us what is happening, and we’ll start in the right place.
  • ✓A new property needs an approved gravity system
  • ✓A tank, pipe, baffle, or distribution box is damaged
  • ✓Flow is not reaching drainfield lines evenly
  • ✓Access lids are buried, unsafe, or deteriorated
  • ✓Roots, settlement, or site activity has damaged piping
  • ✓A conventional system needs a permitted replacement

Our process

Clear from first request to final check.

  1. 01

    Confirm design and condition

For installation, we review the approved plans; for repair, we inspect the accessible components and symptoms to define the affected area.

  2. 02

    Protect the system area

Equipment travel, excavation, material placement, and drainfield protection are planned before the ground is opened.

  3. 03

    Install at the correct elevation

Tanks, piping, boxes, and distribution components are set, leveled, and connected according to the design or approved repair.

  4. 04

    Inspect, close, and explain

Required checks are completed before backfill, the area is graded, and the owner is advised about access and maintenance.

Equipment & qualifications

Prepared for the entire system.

Gravity systems depend on elevation. Excavation capacity must be paired with accurate layout and leveling so wastewater moves through the tank and distribution components as designed.

Field equipment

  • Excavation, grading, and component-handling equipment
  • Laser levels and elevation-control instruments
  • Tank, piping, baffle, riser, and distribution-box tools
  • Site-protection and controlled-backfill equipment

Relevant experience

  • Virginia Onsite Sewage System Installer – Master Alternative qualification, which includes conventional installation capability
  • Understanding of gravity flow from the building plumbing through final distribution
  • Installation and repairs coordinated with approved designs and local requirements

Frequently asked questions

Clear answers before the visit.

What is a conventional septic system?+

It typically uses a septic tank followed by gravity distribution to an approved drainfield. The exact layout, components, and sizing come from the permitted design.

How long does a conventional system last?+

Life depends on design, soils, installation, loading, water use, pumping, maintenance, and protection from traffic or drainage changes. There is no single guaranteed lifespan.

Can I drive over the tank or drainfield?+

Vehicle and equipment traffic can damage components and compact the soil. Keep traffic, structures, and major site changes away unless the system was specifically designed for them.

Should access lids be above grade?+

Accessible, secure risers can simplify maintenance and reduce repeated excavation. The appropriate height and lid arrangement depend on the tank, location, and applicable requirements.
